Ice Dogs Defeat Billings in two game series

The Bozeman Ice Dogs' women's 14U team faced off against the Billings Bulls this weekend in Bozeman, and it was an exciting series of games. The Ice Dogs came ready to play, and it showed in their performance on the ice.

According to Coach Craig Carr, these wins have been years in the making. Coach Carr and Assistant Coach Sage Barta have been with the girls' 14U program since the beginning, and their dedication to developing the players' skills, teamwork, and abilities is evident in the team's success.

In the first game, the Ice Dogs put an impressive 42 shots on goal, winning the game 4-2. The team scored four goals, with Addison Riech scoring a goal and two assists, while Julia Scarson, Emma Bagley, and Acie Kelley scored a goal each. Billings' goalie played a great game in both matches, but really shined in the first game.

In the final game of the weekend, the Ice Dogs put on an impressive show, defeating Billings 4-1. Teegan Gifford, who had competed in the Montana Junior Olympics women's 4,000 meter event earlier in the day, even suited up to play and scored a goal in the third period. Acie Kelley of Three Forks scored two goals, Harper Henry scored once, and Teegan Gifford of Three Forks had a goal and an assist.

The hard work of the 14U women, coaches, and team managers is starting to pay off as the women's hockey program in Gallatin Valley continues to grow. These ladies are going to be exciting to watch over the coming years as they move up to high school and possibly even collegiate level.

The Ice Dogs will be facing off against the Flathead Fusion in Bozeman Nov 18th at 1:45 and November 19th at 11:00 am in the Ressler Arena.
