Three Forks opens season with mix of strong returning players, talented newcomers

The Three Forks High School Girls' Basketball team will open the 2023-24 season with a mix of talented returning players and a strong first-year class.

After a road game on December 5 against West Yellowstone, the Lady Wolves will travel later this week to the Shelby Tournament with a December 8 matchup against Fairfield and a December 9 game against Cut Bank.

Along with returning starters Fallon Page, Tanaya Hauser, Bella Jones, and Madelyn Tesoro, second-year Head Coach Lacy Noble said she is looking for some minutes from other juniors who got a taste of playing time last year.

Noble also lauded the incoming ninth graders.

"The freshmen class has really pushed practices this year and brought depth to the program. They are bringing their game this season, and it is fun to watch them mature and handle some pressure in practice. I am also going to be looking to some juniors who didn't get as much time last year to step up and play. I think Devynn Judd could bring some post presence into our games," Noble said.

Looking back at her first year as Head Coach, Noble said she hopes the girls know how close they were in several games last year and can really bring the intensity that was not always there during the 2022-23 season.

"We spent the summer getting to know new players and positions and testing some new styles of play, hoping that pays off for us this year," said Noble. "It's a funny thing this year as a second-year head coach because the team looks so different and has such different strengths from last year. We are going to be outsized against many teams, so we are adjusting and making some changes to our program. But I think this is the right year to adjust as I'll have so many of these kids back again next year. We will be in better shape this year and hope to be a little more physical."

Three Forks will open their home season on December 11 against Manhattan Christian.
