Montana Department of Transportation Proposes Area Safety Enhancements

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal to install guardrail and signage at multiple locations near Bozeman:

- Montana Highway 86 (MT 86), four miles northeast of Bozeman.

- West Cameron Bridge Road, two miles southwest of Belgrade.

- Churchill Road, south of Manhattan.

- Montana Highway 2 (MT 2), eight miles southeast of Cardwell.

- East River Road, two miles north of Pray.

- Murphy Lane, one mile east of Emigrant.

All project locations will be less than one mile. The purpose of the project is to enhance roadway safety features and address single vehicle roadway departure crashes.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2025 depending on completion of design and availability of funds.

Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at http://www.mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Butte office, PO Box 3068, Butte, MT 59702-3068. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10398000.

The public is encouraged to contact Butte District Preconstruction Engineer Dave Gates at 406-494-9636 or Project Engineer David Relph at 406-444-1280 with questions or comments about the project.
