4 Wolves seniors honored before home finale, postseason starts Friday

The four seniors on the Three Forks/Ennis High School Wrestling team were recognized before last week's Wolves home finale against Livingston and Florence/Carlton.

Three Forks/Ennis Head Coach Nye Howey said he's had the opportunity to coach Cole Rogers, Gabe Hungerford, Jack Hayder, and Alex Fletcher since they were five years old and in the Little Guys Wrestling program.

"These four seniors mean a lot to me and are part of my family. It is hard to see them go. They are awesome leaders; they are always in the wrestling room and work hard at everything they do. They are just a good bunch of guys, and it will be hard in the room without them. I really respect these guys, and they work hard for me," Howey said.

The Wolves wrapped up the regular season on January 27 with several wrestlers competing at the Battle on the Big Horn in Hardin.

Vincent Diaz had a tremendous day of wrestling for the Wolves, finishing in first place in the 182C Division. Diaz had pins over Andrew Allard of Billings Skyview at 1:55 and Tyler Erving of Laurel at 5:33. He finished the tournament with a 7-2 win over Judah Jones of Billings West High School.

Brock Sneed had two wins for the Wolves in the 132E bracket, winning by fall over Camden Robertson of Billings West at 1:22 and Brady Wanner of Billings Skyview at 5:33.

Competing in the 138D bracket, Travis Haldorsen won by fall over Malachi DeForrest of Laurel in 2:21 and Braxton Winfrey of Tongue River in 36 seconds.

Logan Douma won for Three Forks/Ennis in the 126C bracket, getting a pin over Keith Little Light of Hardin at :50.

Hayder had a pin of Malaki Norris of Colstrip at 3:39 in the 152A bracket.

Josiah Gonzalez had a win in the 285B bracket, getting a pin over Lane Pezzarosi of Custer County at 34.

Fletcher had a pin in the 285C bracket, defeating Brogan Broderick of Skyview in 18 seconds.

For the first time in program history, the Wolves will compete in Class A for a postseason event. Three Forks/Ennis will open the 2024 postseason at this week's Eastern A Divisional scheduled for February 2 and 3 in Hardin.
