Wolves steak ends at 7, look to rebound during busy week of action

The Three Forks High School Softball team will look to get back into the win column with a busy week of action.

After opening the week by hosting Belgrade on April 23, the Wolves will travel to play Ennis on April 25 before returning home to wrap up the week with a game against Anaconda on April 26.

Three Forks, which had opened the season with seven straight wins, were defeated for the first time last week.

The Wolves would build a 7-4 lead after three innings on April 16 against Manhattan before the visiting Tigers bounced back for a 23-11 victory. On April 18, Three Forks would lose a doubleheader on the road to a strong Florence-Carlton team, 17-4 and 11-5.

"It was a tough week for the team. Manhattan and Florence are both strong teams that do not make many mistakes. So, if you are going to beat them, you have to play clean softball, and we didn't do that," Head Coach Clay Feliciano said.

Despite the setbacks, Feliciano felt there were positives in all three games.

"We were even in the hit column with Manhattan and a couple less than Florence in the doubleheader. We learned from each loss and are working on strengthening our weaknesses. We look forward to the upcoming week and opportunities to grow as a young team," he said.
