Wolves qualify for Divisionals
The Three Forks High School Softball team is heading to Divisionals.
The Wolves qualified for the tournament with a 12-2 Divisional Play-In game win on May 14 over visiting Powell County High School.
With the victory, the Wolves are now 13-5 on the season and will open play in the Divisional Tournament on May 16 in Florence.
"We are excited. We fully expected to be Divisionals and State. We've now got to go win two games at Divisionals," Head Coach Clay Feliciano said following the game.
SENIOR NIGHT
Before last Thursday's 19-2 win over Powell County High School, the Three Forks High School Softball team honored the senior players on the squad.
Feliciano lauded Sierra Schall, Eva Parker, and Fallon Page for what they have meant to the program over the past two seasons.
"Those three have been an absolute blessing as we started the program with their leadership, experience, and how much the younger girls' looked up to them. I can't imagine what the program would be in year two without having them from day one," Feliciano said.
It was an excellent game for all three, with Parker finishing with two hits and three RBIs, Schall getting a triple and walking three times, and Page giving up just two hits in the game called after three innings due to the mercy rule.
"The team played well, and the seniors represented very well on senior night. It was nice to get Fallon back in the circle to get some reps after being out three weeks," Feliciano said.
Freshman AdaRae Thomas had a big night for the Wolves with two hits and four RBIs, and Nova Ervin had two hits and three RBIs.
Schall, Grace Kluin (2 RBIs), Karlie McDermott, and Sierra Lindquist added one hit for Three Forks.
"We were very aggressive with our baserunning. We ran the bases well, communicated well, and had a ton of energy the whole game," Feliciano said.
The Wolves lost 11-10 on May 13 at Manhattan in the final regular-season game of the year.
