OUR VIEW: OUR VIEW: Fundraiser big for baseball program
May 8, 2019
It was great scene last Saturday at Imery's Field in Three Forks as members of the Gallatin Valley Outlaws and Posse baseball teams hosted a clinic for younger players.
This was a job well done by the players and coaches to pass on their knowledge and love of the game to a younger generation. It says a lot that they took time out to help promote the sport.
The American Legion team that calls Three Forks home has great area players and their level of play and impressive stadium really shows just how important the sport is locally.
Along with the older kids shining in their sports, youth baseball in Three Forks is also very important and this weekend is a huge day for the local program.
Three Forks Baseball is hosting a Golf Scramble and Auction Fundraiser at the Headwaters Golf Course and money raised will be used to upgrade fields, add new fields, upgrade gear, for a new batting cage and to keep player fees low.
This is such an important event to help Three Forks baseball thrive into the future and organizers have done a great job with not only the golf scramble, but to have a variety of auction items. There really is something for everyone at the auction.
It's a great way to not only bid on something very useful, the money will be put to good use and to help the program.
There is so much to be learned through youth sports and to have quality programs is such a benefit to the community.
Many of these younger players will someday be representing the American Legion teams and hosting clinics for a new generation. The upgrades will be nothing but a boon to the program and a great way to help grow the program into the future.
