EDITORIAL: Our View: Rodeo Dayz all about community
July 17, 2019
It's once again time for the annual Three Forks Rodeo Dayz celebration.
In last week's editorial, I touched upon the importance of volunteers for Rodeo Dayz and this week would like to encourage local residents to attend and make this the best event in recent memory.
There are so many wonderful things about a large event like this in Small Town America and perhaps the best is the sense of community it brings. It is not only a chance for those who live in Three Forks to come together but is also a wonderful way for past residents to visit town and catchup with friends and family. This is one of those special times during the year where friends who may not have seen each other since the last Rodeo Dayz or even longer to spend a few minutes catching up.
It is also very much about having pride in the community. Those who stop by for the day from surrounding areas or traveling are able to witness not only a town that supports its events, but also shows pride in where they live.
Another great aspect of Rodeo Dayz is that truly does have something fun for all ages. Events like the stick horse derby are very rewarding to see kids with huge smiles on their faces and the parade is a hit with both kids and adults. A quick glance at the schedule will instantly show there is something to entertain everyone, and that shows the event is well organized. They are catering to everyone, not a select few.
And of course, don't forget what should be two nights of great rodeo and street dance that are sure to bring in huge numbers.
Have fun and be safe and Rodeo Dayz!
