Cross country team competes at Bozeman Invite, will next run Sept. 28 in Missoula

A late change in the schedule had the Three Forks High School and Junior High Cross Country teams traveling to compete at last Saturday's Bozeman Invite.

The Wolves original meet in Pony was cancelled and instead they made the short trip to battle against a strong field in Bozeman.

Head Coach Tara Forsberg said the heat got to the girls team, adding they are still down and hoping to have a full squad in two weeks. She said the boys also struggled with the heat but ran well in Bozeman.

Freshman Jacob Ramsey led the boys team with his time of 19:26.91. Wyatt Golding had a time of 20:57.36, Garret Golding finished at 21:07.95, Beau Johnston finished the race at 21:36.58. and Jaron Berg had a time of 21:54.44. Others competing for the Wolves were Aden Lehr (22:29.79), Devon Potts (23:17.38), Trace Hay (23:17.44), Noah Hegar (24:00.05) and Asher Lehr (26:22.53).

The team will next compete September 28 at the Mountain West Meet in Missoula.

"We are looking forward to a week off of competition and then back at it in Missoula.

In junior varsity action, Stian Staxrud had a time of 24:27, and John Ward finished the race at 28:51.31.

Lily Jones had the top time for the Three Forks girls at 25:43.85. Kodee Kolberg finished at 27:35.26, and Mina Pachalova had a time of 33:12.66.

In middle school action, Bryon Fanning led the boys team with a 14th place finish and a time of 8:31.79. Cass Violett finished at 8:56.34, Rhett Violett had a time of 9:08.42, and Sam Ramsey finished the race at 9:17.62. Others compete for Three Forks were Geno Ferraya (10:32.32), Sawyer Marx (11:00.82), Jace Kopp (11:32.49) and Brady Olson (12:32.77).

Bella Jones had a great race in the middle school girls race finishing in eight place with a time of 9:19.40. Ari Judd finished 21st with a time of 9:50.23. Others competing for the girls were Rylee Dell (10:26.48), Zandra Potts (10:57.47), Gracie Williams (11:22.96), Devyn Judd (11:23.83), Claire Cutler (11:26.58), Kylie Martin (11:37.75), Lauren Welch (11:44.68), Alyssa Golding (11:49.03), Maddie Griffiths (11:55.54), Aislyn Gifford (12:50.45) and Anna Dabling (13:29.47).
