Our View: Harvest Dinner huge for holidays

October 30, 2019

The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are always a magical time of year and a wonderful time for families to spend time together. There are many holiday dinners and there are so many things to be thankful for.

Unfortunately, there are people who may not be able to afford to have a great meal during the holiday season and it is very important to help them as much we can as a society. Nobody should ever go hungry, and everyone deserves to have a nice meal during the holidays.

This Sunday will serve as a wonderful opportunity for local residents to not only come together for a great meal but to also do it for a wonderful cause.

The Holy Parish Harvest Dinner is scheduled for November 3 at 104 E. Street and the menu will feature bone-in ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potato salad, green beans, roll and a dessert. The proceeds will be given to the Headwaters Area Food Bank and will be matched by the Town Pump Foodbank fundraiser.

With Thanksgiving less than a month away, the money raised will truly help this holiday season.

The admission is $30 for a family, $10 for an adult, $5 for kids 6 to 17 and kids under five eat free. This is a fair price for a great meal that will help so much for those in need.

The dinner is also a great way to bring the community together before the holidays and allow them to visit with people they have not seen for a while.

This is a job well done by the Holy Parish and something that makes small towns like Three Forks so special.
