Board Discusses upcoming bonds

The Three Forks School Board will decide this month if they will be moving forward with their May 5 bond election.

At a special meeting last week, Trustee Joe Petersen discussed the possibility of postponing the $10 million K-8 Bond and $15 million high school bond.

Petersen said they don't know what is going to happen in the future and their needs might change in the next three or four months.

Superintendent Jeff Elliott told board members he has been asked by members of the public if they would be moving forward and that the Bozeman School District is looking at postponing their transitional levies.

Board member Sheri Brown took a strong stance against a possible postponement. She said they have been working on this for years and she does not think their needs have changed.

Petersen said that on May 4 people might have a little different thought process when voting and postponement is something they might want to consider.

Elliott said they would put it on the April agenda as an action item.
