Three Forks strong at Townsend meets

It was a solid week of performances for the Three Forks High and Middle School Cross Country Teams with meets last week in Townsend.

Head Coach Tara Forsberg said they had some minor injuries and illness and had to switch up the boys varsity team, but all the runners did great with a lot of PRs and happy athletes.

"Our high school team is running really smart," she said.

It was another strong day for the girls team who finished in third overall led by a third-place finish by Jayden Woodland (20:51). Others competing for the Lady Wolves were Kodee Kolberg (23:29), Lily Jones (23:35), Zandra Potts (23:42), Rylee Dell (24:57), Ari Judd (25:28) and Kinzee Howey (25:28).

Leading the way in the boys race was freshman Bryon Fanning who finished in 13th with a time of 18:16. Sophomore Beau Johnston ended his race in 15th with a finish of 18:24. Others competing for the boys team who finished in fourth place were Jaron Berg (19:45), Devon Potts (20:22), Trace Hay (20:39), Noah Hegar (21:47), and Asher Lehr (23:54).


The Wolves were strong in the junior high race with Anthony Deriana finishing in second (19:26), Garrett Golding in third (20:25), Gabe Hungerford in fourth (21:18), and Rhett Violett in fifth (21:20).

Forsberg said the junior high did really well Friday in Townsend.

Cass Violett was third in the 1.5-mile race with a time of 9:02. Chris Harmon finished at 10:05, Tommy Emens had a time of 10:57, Gavin Richards finished the race at 11:00, Jayson Davisson finished at 11:15, Malachi Tucker ended the meet at 11:26, Sam Petersen had a time of 11:47, Jackson Fanning ended his race at 12:08, Aidan Almazan had a time of 13:32, Kulyer Ward finished at 14:15 and Jacoby Berg had a time of 15:09.

Bella Jones had a strong race for the girls with a fifth-place finish and a time of 10:27. Others competing for the Lady Wolves were Grace Kluin (11:32), Dawson Petersen (11:34), Maya Noble (11:34), Devyn Judd (12:22), Claire Van Vleet (12:28), Ryen Stites (13:26), and Anna Dabling (14:46).
