Three Forks headed to state

It's postseason time for the Three Forks High School cross country team with the Wolves scheduled to compete Saturday at the State Meet in Kalispell.

"I am excited for state, our boys team is running so strong and working so well together. Our times are looking good," said Head Coach Tara Forsberg.

On the girls side, Forsberg said they have struggled a little bit late in the season but thinks they will head to Kalispell to run their best. She added Jayden Woodland is currently in the top 10 in Class B and the number two and three runners aren't far behind.

In action last week, Three Forks competed at Saturday, Manhattan Triangular.

Forsberg said it was cold and wet and the team let that get to them a little bit.

"It was a good preview for the weather on Friday," she said.

Three Forks had three finish in the top 10 in the boys race with Bryon Fanning placing sixth at 18:53.0, Beau Johnston ninth at 19:23.1, and Garrett Golding tenth at 19:27.11. Senior Anthony Deriana just missed out on the top ten finishing in 11th with a time of 19:28.4. Others competing for the Wolves were Gave Hungerford (19:42.5), Devon Potts (20:12.7), Jaron Berg (20:19.7), Rhett Violett (23:30.6), Noah Hegar (23:43.7), and Asher Lehr (25:09.4).

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Cass Violett had another strong race in the middle school boys division finishing in third with a time of 7:35.9. Chris Harmon finished in fifth at 8:21.2, Jayson Davisson was seventh at 9:53.1, and Aidan Almazan was ninth with a time of 10:20.7. Also competing were Jackson Fanning (11:02.3), Kuyler Ward (11:38.6), and Jacoby Berg (12:33.1).

Bella Jones continued her amazing season with a second-place finish at 8:40.5. Devyn Judd was eighth at 9:51.5, Maya Noble finished in ninth with a time of 9:53.8, Dawson Petersen was 10th at 9:55.5 and Ryen Stites was 13th at 11:09.4
