Our View: Make it out to the Farmer's Market

If you are looking for something to do on what is forecasted to be the hottest day of 2021, you won’t have to travel far.

The Three Forks Farmer’s Market will kick off the season on June 3. The market will give residents across the Gallatin Valley an excellent opportunity to spend some time outside and shop with local vendors.

As is the case with the locally organized events throughout the year, people need to get out and show their support. It would be wonderful to see not only a big crowd during the market but throughout the season. Shopping local is vital for any small town, especially with a Farmer’s Market.

The market is not only starting earlier in 2021, but an added feature will also hopefully be a boon to attendance and allow people to learn about a variety of topics with the “Community Corner”.

An example of an upcoming “Community Corner” will include a visit on June 17 from the Three Forks Volunteer Fire Department. Always in need of volunteers, this is a perfect opportunity to learn a little bit more about joining the department and give kids a chance to get a picture with a fire engine. It will be something for the entire family, which is an added benefit to any event.

The Three Forks Chamber is trying hard to make “Thursdays in Three Forks” a go-to destination, and the market and “Community Corner” are a great start.

If you can’t make it this week, please try to come and check out this year’s market. It is worth repeating how important it is to get attendance at small-town events like this.
