Three Forks is now home to a laundromat. Three Rivers Laundromat officially opened for business last week and is owned by Tami Hill, and managed by Brandon Harper. The new business located at 15 Main Street has one 40-pound washer, three 30-pound washers, six 20-pound washers, and ten dryers. Spring work has started on both the USA 287 North of Three Forks and Toston Structures Projects. According to MDT Public Information Officer Becky Bey, this week, travelers on 287 can expects to see reduced speeds and flaggers, but two-way traffic will be maintained. "Thursdays in Three Forks" will be getting an early start in 2021. At last week's City Council meeting, Three Forks Chamber member Leandra Hill and event organizer, asked the city to use John Q. Adams Milwaukee Park starting on June 3. She added the Farmer's Market would run until the end of September. The 2020 Farmer's Market started on July 8. There will not be a May 4 School election in Three Forks. The election was canceled after incumbents Mat Marx and Robert Buchholz were the lone candidates to file prior to the March 24 deadline. Throughout the school year, the "Three Forks Lunch Ladies" work hard to provide nutritious and delicious meals to students. Earlier today, I wrote a story about the new laundromat in Three Forks, and it reminded me of my first experience of doing my laundry regularly. While I did do an occasional load of laundry in high school, it was not until that I made it to the University of Wyoming that I learned how much my poor mom did when I was growing up. After receiving questions from numerous area residents, Gallatin City-County Health Officer Matt Kelley recently discussed the CDC and FDA recommendation to suspend the Johnson & Johnson (Jansssen) vaccine. Somehow in all the moves with the military, Sean and Kira Gifford's paths crossed in Colorado and they married at Three Forks' Sacajawea Hotel. When Sean was no longer in active duty with the military, he and Kira moved in 2010 to Three Forks to be near family. "My grandpa graduated from Harrison High, my great-grandparents' farm in Eastern Montana is still in the family," says Kira. Evelyn Grace (Kennedy) Brainard, 95, passed away peacefully October 23, 2020. She was born October 13, 1925 at home in Rosebud County, Montana to Joe and Gladys (Noyes) Kennedy. She joined two brothers James and Eugene. She grew up on the family ranch on the Rosebud Creek in Eastern Montana and attended rural elementary schools until the family moved to Manhattan in 1936. Chris Kennard slid into this world in July of 1957. His spirit soared away from a body ravaged by multiple myeloma on 14 April 2021.
