    The Three Forks City Council approved last week a Memorandum of Understanding with Headwaters Economics to assist the City with flood mitigation solutions. Based out of Bozeman and Helena, Headwaters Economics is an independent, nonprofit research group that works to improve community development and land management decisions. Kristin Smith of Headwaters is heading up their new flood program that will help communities think about flood risk and mitigation strategies.   • Satellite Voting Office Headed To Three Forks

    In an effort to serve voters in advance of Election Day and to alleviate crowding, the Gallatin County Election Department has developed a mobile satellite office that will be traveling across the county during the month of October to provide voter services in local communities. The mobile office will be at the Three Forks Library on October 13 to 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gallatin County voters will have the opportunity to register to vote, update their voter registration, and receive a ballot in-person.     This Thursday will be a significant date as the City of Thursday celebrates its 112th birthday. According to former Mayor and current Council member Gene Townsend, the date of September 17, 1908, is looked at as the official date the town was established. Townsend said this is the date the Milwaukee Railroad brought in a train for the sale that took place at the Milwaukee Depot.     Three Forks High School cross country head coach Tara Forsberg was plenty pleased with the way her team competed at last Saturday's Headwaters Invitational. "Our athletes came to run.     The Three Forks High School football team will be looking to pick up their first conference win of the season Friday when they host Columbus. In action last week, the Wolves fell to 1-1 on the season with a 47-0 homecoming loss to rival Manhattan.     It was just what you would expect from a rivalry matchup between the Three Forks and Manhattan High School volleyball teams. The two squads battled to five sets last Thursday in Three Forks, with the Lady Wolves falling just short in the 11-25, 26-24, 25-15, 11-25, 15-7 setback.     Duane Kenneth Severson was born on May 10th,1942 in Wheaton Village, Minnesota to Dolly Pechia Severson and Kenneth Severson. Duane passed away on September 12th ,2020 surrounded by his family. Duane was the first born child of a very large blended family. He spent his early years in Minnesota and Montana.     Peter Frederick Stock (Pete Stock), 56, passed away on September 1, 2020. Pete was born May 14, 1964 in Watertown, Wisconsin. He was a resident of Willow Creek at the time of his death.
