  • Three Forks School Trustees Appoint Marx

    There is a new member of the Three Forks School Board of Trustees. Mat Marx was voted into the position last week. He will fill the term of Sheri Brown who resigned earlier this month. His term will expire in May of 2021. The board also interviewed Jason Coursey for the vacancy. During the interview process, Marx said he has been asked a few times over the years to be on the board by a bunch of people but was busy running the Three Forks baseball team.   • Work takes place on trail extension

    There was great news last week for those who enjoy the Headwaters Trail System in Three Forks with paving work taking place on the Jefferson Street Extension. Gene Townsend of the Headwaters Tail System said .6 of a mile was completed on the project that was funded in part from a $60,000 grant from Recreation Trails.   • Lewis and Clark Caverns Offering 2020 Holiday Candlelight Tours

    Montana State Parks announced last week Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park will once again offer the popular Holiday Candlelight Tours. These special candlelight tours of the Caverns will be offered this year Dec. 19-21 and Dec. 26-28. Seven tours will be offered daily between 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Come see the Caverns by the warm festive glow of candle lanterns as we celebrate with this holiday favorite.   • Three Forks Residents Invited to Attend Mitigation Meeting

    Members of the public will learn about flood risks in the community and the mitigation steps the City is working on to reduce the risk. The public will also learn about the new floodplain mapping project and can review the draft floodplain maps. City of Three Forks residents are invited to attend an upcoming Mitigation Meeting on December 2 at 6 p.m., hosted by the City, DNRC, and FEMA.     BOZEMAN – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks biologists will capture mountain goats in the Bridger Range next month as part of a study that will help inform mountain goat and habitat management.     Patricia (Pat) Obrigewitch, a wife, mom, sister, grandma and friend, passed away peacefully after a sudden illness on November 18, 2020. She was born on July 9, 1940 to parents Clarence and Agnes Freese in Bozeman, Montana. She attended Lower Bridger School and graduated from Holy Rosary High School.     The Headwaters Heritage Museum will remain closed during the 2020 Christmas Stroll due to the upswing of COVID-19 cases, new restrictions on the number of people allowed and social distancing requirements.
