    The Three Forks School Board of Trustees unanimously voted last week to offer Superintendent Jeff Elliott a contract for next school year. Vice-Chair Lori Sayers reported that Elliott's closed session evaluation in January went very well. "We feel proud that he is a part of our school," she said.     A brief city council meeting on Tuesday, February 11, was primarily concerned with the Three Forks Rodeo. Council Member Dennis Nelson presided over the meeting in the absence of Mayor Sean Gifford, who was serving on military duty. Nelson started the meeting by resigning as project manager for the Three Forks Rodeo Arena Bleacher Project, due to personal and family commitments.   • City Council approves NHB daycare request

    The Three Forks City Council approved last week a request by Susan Frost to open a daycare at 223 N Main Street. The location is zoned NHB - Neighborhood Highway Business - and previously daycares were only permitted in the R Residential District or RM Residential Medium Density District as a conditional use.     The Three Forks School Board and administration are ready to promote the 2020 bond. "It's time to get the conversation started," said Superintendent Jeff Elliott at the January school board meeting.     Two primary issues dominated the school board meeting on December 17th. The first issue was the lingering impact of financial mismanagement inherited from the previous administration. Sydni Tangaro, of Tangaro and Company CPAs, and Dan Moody, auditor from the Office of Public Instruction, were present at the meeting to report on the auditing process.     The Three Forks School Board meeting on November 19 reported encouraging developments on several fronts. Lisa Morgan said that the auditors are on campus, focusing primarily on 2018, and that the building reserve fund has been divided into four sub funds, providing greater clarity for the project.
