    A crippling winter storm sent temperatures this week well below zero across Southwest Montana. According to accuweather.com, the low temperature in Three Forks was -32 on March 3, -39 on March 4, and -27 on March 5. The National Weather Service issued a flood warning until March 8 at 5:45 p.m. due to an ice jam on the Gallatin River near Logan. Water levels are reported to be below the flood stage in the area, but the risk for flooding will continue through the week.     A middle school science project helped the City of Three Forks find out their water system had violated the Arsenic drinking water standard. At last week’s Council Meeting, Council member Teri Whitesitt said she received a text from Melissa Johnson who said her daughter Erica performed water testing as middle school science fair project and found high levels of arsenic in the school’s drinking fountains.     Another strong season that featured their second consecutive trip to the state tournament came to an end Thursday morning for the Three Forks High School boys basketball team.
