    It was a busy day for area firefighters last Wednesday. According to Whitehall Volunteer Fire Chief Jeremy Ward, the department responded to three calls September 4, all in the Milligan Canyon area west of Three Forks. Ward said the department was first called out Wednesday morning to an accident involving a semi-truck and a contractor striping the road at mile marker 259 on Interstate 90. Child Care Connections, a nonprofit child care resource and referral agency is hosting an event Tuesday, September 17 to discuss the child care situation in Three Forks, Manhattan, and Churchill.     The Three Forks High School boys cross country team showed plenty of improvement at last week's Belgrade Invitational at the Gallatin County Regional Park.     It was a phenomenal start to the conference season for the Three Forks High School volleyball team.
