    It was an amazing Monday in Three Forks with the official arrival of a new bookstore. Book Therapy and Moore opened for business on September 21 and is located at 120 (B) South Main Street. The store is owned by Jodi Moore. Along with a selection of books, the new store will have snacks, coffee, gift cards, Melissa and Doug Puzzles, toys and stuffed animals, bookmarks, jewelry, socks, T-shirts, coffee mugs, artwork, and photographs.   • Farmers to Families Assists Area Residents

    From May 1 to September 16, the Headwaters Area Food Bank has been able to help 822 families in Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson Counties through the Farmers to Families program. According to Kim Gelder, Food Bank Operations Manager, on April 17 the USDA announced its plan to start the Farmers to Family Program due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.     The Three Forks High School football team will return to the road this week with a Friday matchup against Big Timber. Both teams will be looking to move to 2-2 on the season in the game scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. In action last week, Three Forks (1-2, 0-2) fell 48-6 at home to Columbus.   • District Hears Positive Feedback About Distance Learning Program

    The feedback on the new Acellus distance learning program in the Three Forks School District has been positive. At last week's School Board meeting, Assistant Principal Jake Lynch told the trustees they were able to get the program up and running September 8 and have 124 enrolled in the program. He said feedback from students and parents has been very positive, and while they have encountered a few hiccups along the way, things are going very well.   • Toston Project Paving planned for end of September or early October

    At the end of August, workers were able to complete piers and steel girders for the Missouri River Bridge as part of the Montana Department of Transportation Toston Structures Project. Road crews are now doing preparation work for paving near the end of September or early October. Until roadwork resumes and paving starts, traffic is traveling on a finished gravel surface.     The Three Forks school district has updated its attendance policy for fall sports. The new guidelines will allow every Three Forks family of active players and coaches four pre-selected guests to attend sporting events. The number had previously been two. Visiting teams will now be allowed two pre-selected guests. The prior policy only allowed for visitors within Gallatin County.     The Three Forks High School volleyball team opened up a busy week last Tuesday in emphatic fashion with a 25-12, 15-25, 25-19, 25-14 road win over Ennis.
