  • School Board approves recommendation to general fund mill levies for $640k

    The Three Forks School Board unanimously passed a motion to recommend that voters approve $640,000 in General Fund mill levies at their March 15 meeting. The district will use the funds from this mill levy to increase salaries for both certified and classified staff, fund new staffing positions created by the building bond project, address district needs and make necessary updates or replacements.   • More county, city joint meetings on the horizon in 2022

    A joint meeting earlier this month between members of the Gallatin and Broadwater County Commission and City of Three Forks officials was the first of several this spring between the three entities.     At the 75th FCCLA Montana Leadership Conference held on the MSU campus March 17th and 18th. The Three Forks High School Traffic Safety Team received first place and $2500 award for their project, Slow Your Roll. They worked to organize cone week to educate their peers about traffic safety in a variety of ways.     Three Forks was well represented on the 5B All-State and All-Conference basketball teams. The state champion Three Forks boys team had four players earning honors led by senior Owen Long, who was named All-State and first-team All-Conference.     The Three Forks High School tennis team will open their 2022 season Saturday in Manhattan with a matchup against Granite.   • Self-inflicted gun shot reported after March 18 traffic stop

    On March 18th, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a Gallatin County Deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding in the area of Frontage Road and Valley Center Spur Road. As the Deputy approached the vehicle, he heard a gunshot. The driver of the vehicle died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
