    The Three Forks Area Historical Society is having their first meeting of the 2024 season on April 4, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Methodist Annex. Agenda items include moving the dental room items back in the newly restored dental room, volunteer recruitment and planning for the new season in both museums.   • More Hunter Education classes offered in southwestern Montana

    Additional Hunter Education classes have been scheduled in several locations throughout southwestern Montana. Many of these classes are or will soon be open for registration.     Registration is now open for Montana State University’s Peaks and Potentials, a weeklong camp for high-potential students entering grades 5-7 in the fall. The camp will be offered June 16-21 on the MSU campus in Bozeman. Peaks and Potentials allows students to explore special topics of interest and work with experts in various subject areas.   • District Board approves rehire of 3 Principals

    The Three Forks School Board recently unanimously voted to rehire the district’s three Principals. Elementary Principal Steve Fanning, Middle School Principal Jake Lynch, and High School Principal Greg Heys were all rehired for the 2024-25 school year, with salary and benefits to be determined pending negotiations.   • Rebekah Lodge hosting St. Patrick's Day fundraiser, Easter Egg Hunts planned

    It's once again time for the annual Rebekah Lodge St. Patrick's Day fundraiser. The annual event starts at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, at the Lodge, 120 E. Date (across from the fire hall) in Three Forks. The dinner, which raises money for the local organization, costs $12 and includes a corned beef and cabbage dinner with a dinner roll and dessert.   • Local Museums to Go Online

    On February 23, 2024, the Board and Executive Committee of the Three Forks Area Historical Society met at the conference room at the local library to kick off their "Collection Migration Project." This project will make the society's collection available online, allowing the public to view photos, documents, and objects on PastPerfect's online cloud application.   • Three Forks Area Ambulance Community Update

    February was a considerably slower month for calls. TFAA responded to 19 calls. 9 of these were transports to Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center. 2 of these hospital transports we were assisted by AMR paramedics due to the severity of the calls. The rest of the calls were refusals, cancelled prior to arrivals, and a standby for basketball at the Three Forks High School.   • Three Forks Area Ambulance: January Community Update

    In January, we responded to 26 emergency calls for the volunteers who serve on our local ambulance service. Two of our emergency responses were to fatality accidents on I90. TFAA did 16 transports to Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center. We only needed the paramedics on two of those transports for additional aid. We continued to standby at The Three Forks High School Basketball Games to support our youth. The rest of our emergency responses were refusals or cancelled in route to an incident.     The closing of 2023 brought another reason to celebrate a year of successful land conservation efforts for the Gallatin Valley Land Trust. In cooperation with generous landowners, GVLT closed their 128th conservation easement on a 407-acre property located along the Jefferson River west of Three Forks.
